Take Two

Brighton’s own The Glitterbombs just dropped their latest EP Take Two, and it’s pure, unfiltered punk energy. This 9-track explosion, recorded, mixed, and mastered by James Gasson at Third Circle Recordings, hits you like a slap to the face—infectious melodies with raw, gritty sounds that feel like a twisted lovechild of Guttermouth with an English style.

From the first track, you can tell these guys aren’t messing around. Their last single “Smother” is a desperate cry for connection, dripping with raw emotion and vulnerability. The lyrics paint a picture of someone aching for affection but caught in a suffocating cycle of needing and being overwhelmed. It’s both heavy and relatable, especially with that catchy chorus: “Hold me down and smother me.”

Then you’ve got “LGB (with the TNB)”, a straight-up song for unity in the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a rallying cry to stand with your siblings and wave those flags high, a middle finger to anyone trying to divide the queer family. Glitterbombs aren’t just here to play tunes—they’re here to stand for something.

Closing with “Against the Wall” wich throws punches at both sides of the political circus. Right-wing barkers, left-wing screamers—it doesn’t matter. This track’s about how we all get caught in the chaos, smashing our heads against the wall while the world burns around us. It’s angry, but man, it’s also got some sharp truth in there.

With Take Two, The Glitterbombs prove they’ve got the chops, the message, and the melodies to get stuck in your head for days. Infectious and raw, this EP has that gritty, unapologetic English punk edge that makes you want to crank the volume and scream along. If you’re not listening yet, get with it.
