Dystopian Futures

Central Scotland’s punk scene just got a fresh jolt with the release of I Hate Dystopian Futures, the latest digital-only EP from Dystopian Futures. These Serial Punk pioneers have been causing a stir, sharing stages with some of Scotland’s most thrilling acts like UME, Fatal Collision, and Gnasher, and now they’re serving up four tracks that are raw, fast, and undeniably chaotic – in the best way possible.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Mr. Scott Raymond Key at Live Rehearsals in Livingston and The Upper Room in Shotts, this EP is DIY punk at its finest. The opener kicks things off with a wild intro that gives off serious Nirvana vibes, but make no mistake, it’s got that distinct Dystopian Futures edge. The rest of the tracks dive headfirst into experimental territory with guitar distortion, unexpected tempo shifts, and a chaotic energy that somehow holds it all together.

If you’re into raw, unpredictable punk with a twist, this EP is well worth a listen. It’s a glimpse of what these weirdos have to offer, and there’s more to come – keep your eyes peeled for gigs through the year and a vinyl release in 2025.

Give it a spin, and if you’re a fan of weird, fresh material, you won’t regret it!
