The Custard Scream

The Custard Screams’ new three-track ST/EP feels like a solid snapshot of where the band is right now. Rooted in punk rock, the songs don’t rely on speed alone—they breathe, groove, and give space for the message to land. It’s straightforward music, but it’s tight, well-executed, and honest, which makes it stick.

Lyrically, the EP leans into social pressure, control, and quiet frustration. “Royal Flush” takes a sharp look at authority and loyalty, calling out systems that demand obedience while giving little back. “Would You” slows things down emotionally, capturing that feeling of being trapped and asking for relief without turning dramatic. Closing with “Tomorrow,” the band shifts toward introspection, dealing with regret, mental loops, and the effort to keep today’s struggles from bleeding into the future.

Overall, it’s a grounded release—punk at heart, reflective in tone, and confident without trying too hard to prove anything.
