DC’s Finest are Back: R-NØT Drops “Gaslighter // Part 1” with a Punk Legend in Their Corner
If you thought D.C. alternative punk rock had nothing left to say in 2026, R-NØT is here to kindly (or not so kindly) kick your teeth in. Fresh off the poppy punk rock of last year’s Dumpster Fire, the boys are back with a new project: the Gaslighter // Part 1 double LP.

And yeah, they brought some serious backup for this one.
The surprice is here…
The band teamed up with none other than Don Zientara. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, you might want to check your punk history books. Don is the architect of the “D.C. Sound,” the man who helped build Dischord Records from the ground up and captured the lightning-in-a-bottle energy of bands like Fugazi and Minor Threat.
Having Don behind the board gives Gaslighter an authentic grit that feels like a love letter to the scene’s roots, while still pushing that signature R-NØT; “energy”.
This is Only the Beginning
Here’s the kicker: this is only half the story. The band has already confirmed that Part II is dropping this summer, making the Gaslighter era a massive two-part saga.
“Gaslighter // Part 1” is out now. Part 2 arrives Summer 2026.
