Nothing Matters

Monk is an LA-based hardcore band incorporating moments of mindfulness into their pummelling blitz.

Inspired by the aggressive sounds of classics like 86 Mentality and Knife Fight and contemporaries like Gel and Bib, Monk sprinkles in wisdom, exploring themes such as impermanence and existentialism while encouraging the importance of being present and acknowledging both positive and negative emotions.

Rock by MONK

For now they released their first video/single “Nothing Matters”, produced by Monk and directed by L.A.-based videographer extraordinaire Jovanni Martinez (Motionless Creations).  The song is full of positive energy, focusing on gratitude and exploits great melodies, guitars and fast drums.

The song sets a sense of urgency and emphasizes the need to act quickly and suggests the importance of having a positive mindset and focusing on gratitude instead of negative attitudes.
Overall, the lyrics evoke a sense of urgency, introspection, and contemplation of one’s place in the world. The use of imagery and contrasting ideas adds depth to the lyrics.
