Here we go! DIY punk rock duo band from Quebec, Canada consisting of Richard and Marco, REMARK is back with their latest release. After providing a small review for their album “The New Era” last year, we are excited to share their 100% DIY debut LP titled “The Process Of Learning.” This album is heavily influenced by punk rock from the 90s and 2000s, drawing inspiration from bands like Bad Religion, Millencolin, Propagandhi, and Pennywise.
This album exudes a relentless wave of energy, presenting meaningful and introspective lyrics in English while subtly incorporating their French roots. The guitar work is impressive, combining driving power chords with infectious melodic hooks that will undoubtedly have you nodding your head in appreciation.
Whether you’re a fan of skate/melodic punk rock or simply someone who enjoys vibrant and thought-provoking music, this album is a definite must-listen.
One of my personal favorite tracks is “Thank God for,” which evokes memories of old Guttermouth songs. It engages in a critical examination of religious beliefs, delving into the contradictions and controversies that arise from them. The song expresses gratitude towards God while simultaneously questioning the actions and behaviors associated with religious institutions.
Overall, “The Process of Learning” by REMARK is an album that seamlessly blends energetic music, profound lyrics, and a touch of French influence. It is an exciting addition to the punk rock scene, deserving of attention and admiration.
I wanna stand up and make a big applause
Thank God For
For all the religious wars causing deaths and scars in the name of God
But wait, I got more questions on the line
Why the priests and nuns in the orphanages can sin at bedtime
