Bored of Peace

So, the Knoxville guys in American Thought Criminals just dropped their third record, Bored of Peace, via Robot Polisher Records, and it’s pretty much exactly what you’d want from an O.S.H.C. outfit.

This isn’t some over-produced studio project. It feels like a sweaty basement show in Tennessee. They’re leaning hard into that Old-school Hardcore, Skate-Pop Punk and a bit of dub reggae crossover—think fast, raw, and zero fluff.

You get 16 tracks that fly by. They actually play with the tempo more than you’d expect.

  • The Energy: It’s not just a constant blast beat. They nail those “highs and lows,” switching from frantic, circle-pit speed to some heavier, mid-tempo grooves that give you a second to breathe.
  • The Hooks: Despite the grit, the songs are surprisingly catchy. You’ll probably find yourself humming a riff or two after the first listen.

True to the name, they aren’t playing nice. The lyrics are a straight-up middle finger to authority. It’s rebellious, cynical, and feels very “on brand” for a band that clearly grew up on the classics of the genre.

Bored of Peace is just a solid, rebellious punk record that stays true to its roots. If you’re into fast drums, fed-up lyrics, and music made for skating or breaking things, this one’s worth a spin.
