If you’ve been nursing a hangover while watching the world slide into absolute shit, Sweden’s Mistakes Were Made just dropped the perfect soundtracks for your existential dread. Their new 3-track EP, Corporate Punks, is a masterclass in Euro-skate punk: blistering rad melodies, incredibly tight, and packed with the kind of sunny, infectious hooks.

Think the high-energy, infectious bounce of Enema of the State-era Blink-182 mixed with the driving, melodic grit of New Found Glory, all filtered through that hyper-precise Swedish punk pedigree.
The Breakdown
- “W.U.F” (We’re Uniquely Fucked): The ultimate “we’re doomed, let’s party” anthem. The band delivers blazing tempos while screaming about losing control: “The world’s spinning faster and faster… No regrets, don’t be lame, worry after we’re gone.” It’s a spectacular trainwreck of human failure wrapped in a massive, sing-along chorus.
- “Counting Hours”: A relatable, cynical nod to the daily grind and mental burnout. It captures that numb, autopilot feeling of modern life (“Are you having a bad day / How do you know and does it matter”), backed by driving basslines and rapid-fire drums that refuse to let you wallow.
- “Duct Tape & Wishes”: A bittersweet track about hitting the wall and realizing some things can’t be fixed with a quick apology. The chorus—“I’ve been here before, I know how this goes / I deserve better, this shit is getting old”—is bound to be a crowd-favorite shout-along at their live shows.
Corporate Punks is short, sharp, and honest. Mistakes Were Made are delivering depressing, defeatist lyrics over melodies so surprisingly happy they’ll cure your seasonal depression.
