Some punk records waste no time, and that’s exactly the point. The new 7″ split from Resistenti Records, out August 29, brings together Portland’s socially conscious punks The Seditionists with Scontro for four tracks of straight-up, no-bullshit punk rock.
The seven inch is the first release from Resistenti Records. “Our original plan,” says DiCicco, “was to just self-release this record. Once we jumped through all the hoops of doing it though, we thought ‘why not just start our own label?’ So this split is a sort of ‘soft launch’ for Scontro’s newest project, Resistenti Records.”
There’s no unnecessary buildup here—just guitars, attitude, and lyrics that actually have something to say.
The artwork is another nice touch. It nods to Gang of Four, The Clash, and Crass without just copying them, capturing that old-school DIY look while still feeling like its own thing.
All four tracks were tracked at Sisterly Silence Studios and mastered by Erik Wofford at Cacophony Recorders — the mix keeps the raw edge intact while still giving the songs room to punch.
Four songs. Two bands. One 7″. No filler, no wasted time, and no shortage of attitude.
