Norway’s Dead Target are back, and they’re not here to ask permission. Still While It Spins is 10 tracks in about 24 minutes of melodic punk rock and Scandinavian rock’n’roll, with zero time to catch your breath.

From the first track, it’s a protest with a pulse: loud, fired-up, and soaked in the kind of hooks that stick in your skull for days. There’s a streak of beautiful failure running through it too, that “we’re losing, so let’s go down swinging” energy that makes the whole record feel honest. The guitar solos are tight and played with real feel, never showing off just for the sake of it. And the rhythm section keeps everything sharp, with tempo changes from the drums and bass that land exactly where they should.
If you grew up on Green Day, Social Distortion, Turbonegro, The Hellacopters and Gluecifer, you’ll feel right at home. But Dead Target aren’t a tribute act. They take those fuels and burn them their own way.
It’s short, fast and loud, and it spins even better on vinyl.
